Nope. I would give zero stars if I could. You cannot make me believe that this bond negates any concern she has for her fellow humans (not to mention children) who are being slaughtered by these aliens who profess life is important. I call BS. This is straight up genocide for greed and fear due one possibility out of many . Killing like this is cowardly especially children. Just No!!! Everyone else who gave so many stars for this. What is wrong with you? Not my idea of a ROMANCE story.
Ashley I just love your books. This series has got me hooked. People get this series, because it keeps you reading . You say just one more page, and a chapter later you are still reading. It's addictive. love them.
This series is just getting better it is second book in the Albaterra Mates series and I can not wait for the next one to be out this is a series I have been having a good time reading.Duke is a leader of his men who he would do anything for , he does not like humans but then he meets Emily. Find out what happens in this book there is suspense, action, danger and fighting. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
The decision is made by the Council, invade and destroy humanity. The fears of retaliation and invasion on Albaterra and Earth are rife with expectation and preemptive action. Albaterra, happens to strike first and swiftly, the people of Earth are fearful and a lot of them are killed. Duke, however, sees a human female and attempts to kill her but takes her captive ad he and she both feel a connection. Their time together is joint by danger.
I would have enjoyed this story more if there had been less killing in it. I guess I don't understand how Emily could stay with someone who is set on annihilating her species. I liked the first book Rex much better.
This is the second book in the Albaterra Mates series. This can be read as a standalone but to really understand the who, what, when, and where of the story it's best to read them in order. There's action, adventure, drama, danger, suspense, fighting, twists/turns, mayhem, intrigue, enemies, romance, passion/lust and love.
Aliens are invading Earth and killing women, men and children! The main characters in this story are a human female and an alien. One is an artist who happens to work in a Mystic Shop in Vegas and the other is a blue-skinned warrior from Albaterra. They first met when the alien lands on Earth to start an invasion. To find out what happens after that, read the book. I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and this review is my own opinion.
I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't this. I don't want to say anything about the plot, so it's making it more difficult to write this, but it was such an original take on the alien romance. I found the plot refreshing. The story is full of emotion and action. I was immediately drawn to Emily, I knew Duke from the first book in the series, and their romance was lovely. I enjoyed this story so much! Ashley Hunt writes romance that is more than just sex scenes. The story would be just as strong without them, and just as enjoyable I think. I can't wait to continue this series!
The story is a stand alone romance, but it picks up right after Rex and the next book in this series, Dane, picks up right after this one ends. I would recommend reading these in order so you get the full scope of everything.
